Lunar New Year Greetings to Vietnamese Expats in the Republic of Korea, Venezuela | Society

Seoul (VNA) – Vietnamese Ambassador to the Republic of Korea (RoK) Nguyen Vu Tung visited and extended Lunar New Year (Tet) greetings to two Vietnamese-Korean families on February 1, the first day of the Year of the Tiger .

He brought “banh chung” (square glutinous rice cake) as a gift to the families of Nguyen Ngoc Cam, former president of the Korean Republic Vietnamese Association, and Nguyen Thi Trinh, and offered lucky money to their children.

Addressing Korean husbands, Tung expressed his hope that families will pay attention to the education of younger generations and provide children with access to Vietnamese culture and language.

He also expected that Vietnamese-Korean families will further contribute to the development of relations between the two countries and participate in the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of Vietnam-Republic of Korea diplomatic relations (December 22, 1992 – 2022).

Previously, on New Year’s Eve, the Vietnamese diplomat held a rally, linking 100 different locations, to extend best wishes to all Vietnamese living in the ROK. He briefed them on the political and socio-economic situation in Vietnam and the strategic partnership of the two nations last year.

In Venezuelathe Vietnamese embassy also organized a meeting for staff of diplomatic missions and Vietnamese living in the Latin American country on the occasion of the Lunar new year./.
